By using ExcuseWiz (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it. Questions go to hello@excusewiz.com.

1. What the Service is

ExcuseWiz is a creative-writing tool that generates short scripts in response to situations users describe. The output is text suggested by a large language model — it is not advice, and it is not guaranteed to be accurate, appropriate, or true.

2. For entertainment and creative writing

The Service is provided for entertainment and creative-writing purposes. You are fully responsible for how you use any generated text. See the Disclaimer for the full list of what the Service is not to be used for.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Union) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are using it only in jurisdictions where it is lawful to do so.

4. Acceptable use

• Do not use the Service to commit fraud, defraud employers, mislead medical professionals, break laws, or harm others.
• Do not attempt to extract training data, reverse-engineer the prompts, or use the API endpoint in a way that bypasses rate limits.
• Do not submit content that is illegal, threatening, or targets a specific real person with an intent to harass them.
• Do not use the Service to generate content that sexualises minors, incites violence, or violates third-party rights.

5. Intellectual property

The site’s design, code, and written content (blog posts, library articles, brand assets) belong to ExcuseWiz. You may share and adapt output text from the generator freely — we claim no ownership over what the tool writes for you.

If you submit feedback or suggestions, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use them without obligation to compensate you.

6. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee availability, accuracy, or that the output will not occasionally be weird, wrong, or unsuitable for your situation.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExcuseWiz, its operator, and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service — including lost profits, lost data, or reputational harm. If a court finds we owe you something, our total liability will not exceed whatever you paid us in the previous twelve months (for a free tool, that’s zero).

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ExcuseWiz, its operator, and its contributors from any claim, demand, loss, or damage — including reasonable legal fees — arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you are violating these Terms or the Disclaimer. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, indemnification, limitation of liability, and governing law — survive.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (xAI, Supabase, Vercel, Google AdSense, and others as listed in the Privacy Policy). Those providers have their own terms, which apply to your use of their portions of the Service. We are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

11. Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. Features described today may change or be removed tomorrow.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged by updating the date at the top. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the new version.

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country of residence of the operator of ExcuseWiz, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction. 14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. The unenforceable provision will be interpreted to reflect, as closely as possible, the original intent within the limits of the law.

15. Entire agreement

These Terms — together with the Privacy Policy and the Disclaimer — constitute the entire agreement between you and ExcuseWiz regarding the Service and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements on the same subject.
